Suzuki launches 2023 V-Strom 800DE: new 800cc twin-cylinder adventurer
Suzuki launched at EICMA 2022 the new 2023 V-Strom 800DE, its 800cc twin-cylinder adventure bike, which arrives with a traditional V-Strom design and tailored performance for a new generation of riders looking for a versatile model full of technology.
Completely made from scratch and which also equips the new ‘naked’ GSX-8S, the engine that equips the new motorcycle has 2 parallel cylinders and 776 cm³ with liquid cooling, and is capable of generating up to 62 kW (84.3 hp) of maximum power at 8,500 rpm, and 78 Nm (7.9 kgfm) of torque at 6,800 rpm.
According to the company, this engine suppresses vibration to contribute to smooth operation and a compact and lightweight engine design, adopting the Suzuki Cross Balancer, the first of its kind on a production motorcycle to position its two balancers at 90° in relation to the crankshaft.
Furthermore, the V-Strom 800DE was developed with the aim of offering riders of all ages and skill levels unlimited possibilities to enjoy all types of riding, whether on or off-road.
For this, it has a complete technology package, which brings the SDMS (Suzuki Drive Mode Selector) with three riding modes, and a bidirectional quick shift system that allows up and down changes without operating the clutch lever or the accelerator.
In addition, it brings a traction control system with G mode (Gravel), ABS brakes with ABS Off mode on the rear wheel and electronic throttle (Ride-by-Wire).
In terms of design, the V-Strom 800DE has a similar design to the Bigtrail V-Strom 1050DE, but with some features of its own, with an LED headlight with projectors stacked vertically, a small windshield and a large, wide tail, offering great comfort both for the pilot and the passenger.
Finally, the model has Full-LED lighting, a 5″ color TFT digital panel, spoked wheels (21″ at the front), and Dunlop TRAILMAX MIXTOUR dual purpose tires, measuring 90/90-21 at the front and 150/70-17 at the rear.
The 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE hits stores in Europe from February 2023 in 3 color options: Grey, Yellow and Black. Prices have not yet been announced.
