Honda launches 2022 CB300R in Europe with Showa SFF-BP USD forks and assist/slipper clutch
Honda has launched in Europe the new 2022 CB300R, its 300cc ‘naked’ bike, which arrives with a 41mm Showa SFF-BP USD forks and assist/slipper clutch, as well as other high-spec items.
The CB300R rejoins the line for 2022, and has a design called ‘Neo Sports Café’, the same as the CB1000R, CB650R and the ‘baby’ CB125R, with modern lines and a hint of retro and café racer.
For 2022, CB300R has brushed alloy radiator side covers, black-out engine, new sports exhaust, steel tubular frame and the 41mm inverted front suspension in gold color.
Speaking of the front suspension, it is the same used in the CB650R model, a 41mm Showa Separate Function Big Piston (SFF-BP) USD forks (with spring rate and damping changes, of course). To complete the setup, it features a 296mm floating front brake disc and a radial-mounted 4-piston caliper.
In addition, it is equipped with two-channel ABS and the first-in-class ‘Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) system’. The wheels are 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, fitted with 110/70-17 tires at the front and 150/60-17 at the rear.
Power, technology, colors and price
The 2022 CB300R is equipped with a single-cylinder 286 cm³ liquid-cooled, DOHC 4-valve, EURO5 compliance engine, capable of generating up to 22.9 kW (30.7 HP) of maximum power at 9,000 rpm, and 27.5 Nm (2.76 kgfm) of torque at 7,500 rpm.
In addition, it has a 6-speed gearbox equipped with an assist and slipper clutch, which prevents the wheel from locking up in sudden downshifts.
Finally, the model has a monoshock rear suspension with 7-Step preload adjustment, a multifunctional LCD digital panel with Gear Position Indicator and Gear Shift Warning Lights, and Full-LED lighting.
Anyway, the 2022 CB300R is available in Pearl Dusk Yellow, Mat Pearl Agile Blue, Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic and Candy Chromosphere Red. Prices in the UK starts at £4,899.00.
