Suzuki Launches GSX-R1000R Phantom Special Edition
Suzuki launched in the UK the GSX-R1000R Phantom, a special edition of its supersport bike, very similar to the iconic GSX-R1000 K6 Phantom from 2006. It arrives with gold wheels, Yoshimura silencer, genuine accessories and a beautiful color.
The new GSX-R1000R Phantom features the Yoshimura exhaust system – this time an R11 silencer and heat shield finished in metallic black with carbon cover – and some Suzuki accessories, including track-focussed brake and clutch lever guards, a tank pad and fuel cap trim, and a smoked double bubble screen.
The model comes out with matte black paint, which is complemented by glossy black decals. Standing out against the color scheme are the gold wheels and gold USD Showa BFF – Balance Free Front front suspension.
The engine of the GSX-R1000R is a liquid-cooled, 999.8 cm³ in-line four cylinder, capable of generating up to 202 HP of maximum power. It uses the same variable valve timing system as the MotoGP World Championship winning GSX-RR.
In addition, it comes with a complete set of electronics, including a bi-directional quickshifter, lean angle-sensitive, 10-mode traction control and ABS, launch control, and three power modes.
Finally, the special edition GSX-R1000R Phantom is offered in the UK for £17,499. There is no information on whether the company plans to sell it in other markets.
