Ducati DesertX comes to Ducati UK dealerships for a one week tour

Ducati has announced that its newest model, the DesertX, is coming to UK dealerships for a week-long show as part of the European Tour.

The tour begins on the 7th April with locations at Ducati Oxford and Ducati Aylesbury before completing its UK adventure on the 12th April at Moto Rapido in Winchester.

The DesertX bike will be exhibited with either standard trim or equipped with rally and off-road packs. These consist of an auxiliary tank, tank protector sticker, headlight protection grill, rally seat, sump cover, radiator protection grill, steel tubed engine protector, hand covers and water pump protector. Also included are an aluminium pannier kit and an approved Termignoni exhaust.

In addition, a DesertX dedicated capsule collection will also be on display, featuring Jacket, Trousers, sweater and Male and Female T-shirts.

The new DesertX is a bike designed with an intense off-road use, expanding Ducati boundaries. Desert dunes, narrow off-road paths, gravel roads and mountainous twisties: all are now accessible to the dreams of DesertX travellers.

How is Ducati DesertX

The Ducati DesertX it is a 950cc Bigtrail motorcycle, which arrives with a design inspired by the Enduro bikes of the 80s, and a chassis capable of facing any type of terrain.

It is a bike made mainly for off-road, with a steel trellis frame, long travel suspensions and large wheels, 21″ at the front and 18″ at the rear.

It is equipped with fully adjustable Kayaba suspensions, 46 mm USD at the front with 230 mm of travel, and monoshock at the rear, with 220 mm. With this set, plus 21″ spoked wheels at the front and 18″ at the rear, the DesertX has 250 mm of ground clearance, allowing it to face the worst off-road environments.

In addition, it leaves the factory equipped with dual purpose tires, Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR, measuring 90/90-21 at the front and 150/70-18 at the rear.

Design, Engine and Technology

The 2022 Ducati DesertX comes with a design reminiscent of Rally bikes, with a slim body and a very vertical windshield. According to the brand, it is a contemporary interpretation of the 80’s Enduro motorcycles, with criteria of essentiality and robustness.

It features two eye-catching round headlights at the front, as well as a ‘vintage’ style windshield, positioned like a Rally bike. The rear is simple, with minimal elements.

The fuel tank has a capacity of 21 liters, and an additional 8 liter tank is offered to be placed at the rear (sold as an accessory), which guarantees optimal autonomy.

The DesertX has a liquid-cooled 937 cm³ V2 Testastretta EURO5 engine, capable of generating up to 110 HP of maximum power at 9,250 rpm and 92 Nm (9.3 kgfm) of torque at 6,500 rpm.

Finally, in terms of technology, it comes with 6 riding modes (including Enduro and Rally modes), 4 power modes, ABS Cornering, Engine Brake Control (EBC), Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up & Down, Brembo brakes with 4-piston calipers Brembo M50 radial-mounted monobloc at the front, Full-LED lighting with DRL, and 5″ color TFT full digital instrument panel.
