Yamaha celebrates Valentino Rossi’s career with the R1 GYTR VR46 Tribute
Yamaha Motor Europe has created a special edition of the R1 supersport bike to celebrate the career of nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi, who retired at the end of the 2021 MotoGP season.
Called R1 GYTR VR46 Tribute, the bike was given to the Italian for the ‘One More Lap’ event at the EICMA 2021 (Milan Motorbike Show), while Yamaha pays tribute to the VR46 and its historic legacy.
This racing-spec R1 received a special livery produced by Aldo Drudi, Rossi’s longtime friend and helmet designer, and is a special gift that the legend of Tavullia will have the opportunity to ride on at the Misano circuit soon, according to the company.
It arrives with new racing parts that will be made available in 2022 by GYTR (Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing), the brand’s high-performance original racing parts and accessories division.
In addition, it brings special parts of the bike used in the WorldSBK Championship (where Yamaha got, in 2021, the triple crown): carbon fiber fairing, carbon fiber rear sub-frame, 22 liter tank and Brembo brake kit, among others.
