2023 Yamaha Ténéré 700 gets TFT panel, 3 ABS modes and more improvements

Yamaha has launched in Europe the 2023 model of the Ténéré 700 and Ténéré 700 Rally Edition, which arrive with important updates like a new color TFT panel and 3 ABS modes, but keep the mechanics and design of the previous model.

The Ténéré 700 is the brand’s mid-capacity adventurer bike launched in 2019, with a design reminiscent of rally motorcycles. It was created to be a light adventurer, with a mid-range engine and real off-road ability. According to the brand, the model immediately became a bestseller, with more than 40,000 units sold in Europe since then.

One of the main innovations in the 2023 model is the new 5″ color TFT panel with Smartphone connectivity. It has two screen themes, ‘Explorer’ and ‘Street’, to suit different riding situations. The first focuses on the RPM range, allowing the rider to focus on maintaining the strongest torque output. The last theme has a more conventional look with circular analog-style dials.

Another important improvement on the 2023 Ténéré 700 and 2023 Ténéré 700 Rally Edition is the refinement of the ABS system, which now has 3 modes: ‘Full ON’; ‘Front wheel ON rear wheel OFF’; and ‘Full OFF’.

Finally, the models arrive pre-wired for the fitment of an optional quick shifter system (optional), and with USB socket (which replaces the old 12V) and LED turn signals.

Engine, chassis and technology

The engine of the 2023 Ténéré 700 is the same as the previous model, that is, 689 cm³ 2 cylinders CP2 with liquid cooling, capable of generating up to 54 kW (72.4 hp) of maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 68 Nm (6.9 kgfm) of torque at 6,500 rpm. It works in conjunction with a 6-speed gearbox.

In addition, as an authentic extreme adventurer, it has a front inspired by rally motorcycles, with 4 LED projectors for the headlight and a very vertical windshield. Off-road riding is guaranteed by the tall and wide tapered handlebars, narrow fuel tank and seat, and long-travel suspensions, being 43 mm Upside Down at the front.

To ‘devour’ all types of terrain, the Ténéré 700 is equipped with spoked wheels, 21″ at the front and 18″ at the rear, and on/off-road adventure tires, measuring 90/90-21 at the front and 150/70-18 at the rear.

Finally, in terms of safety, it has double 282 mm brake discs at the front with ABS system, which can be turned off while riding.
