Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup will join WorldSBK on European stages
Dorna and FIM have confirmed that the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup will join the World Superbike Championship WorldSBK on the European stages.
This means that the category races will take place at the same locations and dates as the World Superbike Championship, along with the WorldSSP300 category.
The schedule with the changes has been released and the Yamaha R3 cup will be the first to enter the track for free practice on Friday. In the afternoon, on Friday, the Superpole of the category will be disputed.
The Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup kids compete in Race 1 and Race 2 on Saturday. There is no activity for the category on Sunday.
What is the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup?
The Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup is a new series of motorcycle racing with the aim of providing a path to the world stage for young riders.
The Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup, a collaboration between Yamaha, FIM Europe and Dorna Sports, supported by Japan Italy Racing, will be played in 12 races in the European rounds of the 2021 FIM World Superbike Championship and will be open to riders aged between 12 and 20 years.
The Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup was designed as the ideal first step for young riders with aspirations for the world championship.
The series will be played exclusively on board the Yamaha YZF-R3 machine, with a grid of 36 riders from around the world expected to line up for the opening round in 2021.
