TVS Motors launched in India the TVS Raider, its 125cc motorcycle designed for the youngsters of Generation Z. The model arrives with an under-seat space, as well as an LCD panel (optional in TFT 5″) and riding modes.
The TVS Raider’s main highlight is its under-seat space, something usually seen only on scooters. It is possible to carry small objects, and it is located under the passenger seat.
Another highlight of this street bike is its ‘inverted’ LCD panel, with complete information including gear indicator and riding modes (Eco and Power). There will be an optional 5″ TFT panel version with TVS SMARTXONNECT, offering Bluetooth connectivity, voice assistance and GPS navigation.
In addition, TVS Raider has a mono-shock rear suspension, front brake disc, three-valve engine, electronic injection and TVS IntelliGO, which is the start/stop system that turns off the engine at traffic lights to save fuel. With that, according to the brand, the bike is capable of reaching up to 67 km/L.
The model has a modern and aggressive design, with a sporty touch. The headlamp has LED lighting and the taillight, also in LED, has a distinctive, highly recognizable design. The fuel tank is very sporty, with a strip on top.
The engine is a 125 cm³ single cylinder with air and oil cooling, capable of generating up to 8.37 kW (11.22 HP) of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 11.2 Nm (1.13 kgfm) of torque at 6,000 rpm. It works together with a 5-speed gearbox that allows, according to the brand, to go from 0-60 km/h in 5.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 99 km/h.
Anyway, TVS Raider will be sold globally and is offered in India starting from Rs. 77,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi), approximately US $1,052 in a direct conversion. It will be available in drum and disc variant, and will come in a color selection of Striking Red, Blazing Blue, Wicked Black and Fiery Yellow.
