Triumph Trident 660 revealed: 660cc triple engine and lots of technology
Triumph launched the Trident 660, its new entry ‘naked’ bike in the brand’s ‘roadster’ line. It arrives with a new triple engine, full of technology and category-leading handling.
The 2021 Triumph Trident 660 has a minimalist design, with clean lines and an extremely short tail. In addition, it brings some elements with a ‘retro’ style, such as the round headlight and digital panel.
Given that, it features Full-LED lighting and digital TFT panel, with complete information. The fuel tank is “sculpted”, with space for the legs to fit.
Furthermore, according to the brand, the new 2021 Trident 660 was designed to offer three main advantages for a new generation of Triumph pilots: Triple cylinder power and torque-rich performance, class-leading technology as standard, and all reliable, agile and inspiring handling from Triumph, all at a price that represents great value.
The engine is the new 660 cm³ triple engine designed to offer maximum performance in conditions of daily use, with linear power and torque delivery. Therefore, it is capable of generating up to 81 HP of maximum power and 6.5 kgfm / 64Nm of torque.
In addition, the gearbox is 6-speed with an assist and slip clutch. It also has a Triumph Shift Assist (quick gear changes), sold as an accessory.
Cutting-edge technology
The Triumph Trident 660 arrives with the latest technology, with premium brand components, usually present in larger and luxurious motorcycles.
Above all, it features Showa upside-down front suspensions, and Showa monoshock with adjustable preload at the rear.
The brake system is from the Nissin brand, with two piston calipers at the front (310 mm double discs), and a single piston caliper at the rear.
Lastly, the new 2021 Trident 660 is factory-equipped with three state-of-the-art features: two riding modes, adjustable traction control and a ride-by-wire acceleration system.
To point out, the “Road” and “Rain” riding modes increase the driver’s confidence, control and safety through electronic adjustment of the acceleration map and traction control.
Finally, the Triumph Trident 660 will be available in Europe in January 2021. The price released for the UK is £ 7,195.00
