New Triumph Speed Twin to be launched globally on June 1st
Triumph announced the global launch of the new revamped Speed Twin for the 1st of June.
This classic motorcycle, inspired by the iconic namesake of 1938, should receive some aesthetic updates. So far, there is no information on whether the model will have any mechanical changes.
The announcement was made by the company through a teaser video on YouTube (see below):
The Triumph Speed Twin 1200, is currently sold in the UK starting from £10,700.00. It is based on Street Twin but with Thruxton R chassis and engine.
Anyway, let’s wait for the launch of the new Speed Twin to see the changes in the new model.
How is the current Speed Twin
The Triumph Speed Twin carries the contemporary personalized style of Street Twin, but adds even more beautiful premium details.
The main ones are: Carved 14-liter fuel tank, custom-styled seat, minimal front and rear fender configuration with small rear light, sculpted side panels with aluminum insignia details, upward double sport mufflers and modern rear-view mirrors handlebar end.
The engine is a parallel 2-cylinder 1200 cm³ with liquid cooling, capable of generating up to 97 HP of maximum power at 6,750 rpm and 112 Nm / 11.5 kgfm of torque at 4,950 rpm. It has been revised and developed from the Thruxton R and has a low inertia crank and a high compression head.
In addition, the Speed Twin has cast aluminum wheels with 7 spokes, brake system with Brembo pistons, Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires, tapered handlebars and a new and comfortable seat with a height of 807 mm.
The main technologies of the motorcycle are: 3 riding modes, ABS brakes, switchable traction control, Full-LED lighting, electronic accelerator, assisted clutch, USB socket, engine immobilizer and instrument panel with double dials.
