MotoGP organizers (FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports) have announced the cancellation of the Grand Prix of Thailand due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, resulting in travel complications and logistical restrictions.

The event was scheduled to take place at the Chang International Circuit from October 15th to 17th.

The FIM MotoGP™ World Championship looks forward to returning to race in front of the incredibly passionate Buriram crowd in 2022.

A replacement event is currently under consideration and any updates regarding a possible substitute will be published as soon as available.

Other events canceled and added

MotoGP has also already canceled the Australian GP and hopes to return to Australian fans at the spectacular Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit in 2022.

The 2021 Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix has therefore been brought forward and will take place a week earlier than previously scheduled, from the 22nd to the 24th of October.

Furthermore, they have confirmed the addition of the GP do Algarve to the 2021 calendar. MotoGP will return to Portimão from November 5-7, the week before Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana.
