BMW presents special versions of the R nineT and R 18 in celebration of the brand’s 100th anniversary
BMW Motorrad presented special versions of the R nineT and R 18 Cruiser in Europe in celebration of the brand’s 100th anniversary.
The special edition was created to honor the brand’s beginnings in the world of two wheels, with the first drawing being made in December 1922 by Max Friz, BMW chief designer.
In September 1923 the first BMW motorcycle rolled off the production line, the R 32, equipped with an air-cooled two-cylinder four-stroke boxer engine.
So, to celebrate its 100-year history, each special version of the R nineT and R 18 will only have 1923 units produced, therefore being an exclusive and limited model.
The R nineT 100 Years and the R 18 100 Years offer, as a differential, a lot of chrome and a particularly refined and sophisticated packaging.
The models feature a Classic Chrome paint job, with the fuel tank featuring a combination of black with chrome and white double-lining, and complemented by knee pads and a 100 Years badge.
In addition, several components of the Option 719 package have been added to make the models even more exclusive, such as seat, mirrors, levers, brake master cylinders, brake calipers, engine casing covers, etc.
