BMW introduces the Definition CE 04 concept: the electric scooter of the future
BMW introduced the Definition CE 04 concept during the #NEXTGen 2020, its electric scooter of the future, focused on urban mobility. It is an evolution of the initial Concept Link concept, presented in the 2017 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
The BMW Definition CE 04 features futuristic and urban design, with well-defined angles, elongated and low body, and LED headlights in the very minimalist ‘U’ shape.
In fact, the design is quite bold, with the back giving the impression that “something is missing”. The rear wheel is almost completely exposed. The bank is very flat and low, it is not on two levels. Remember that the model is still a concept and can receive changes in the production version.
The batteries are positioned in the lower part of the scooter, lowering the center of gravity and allowing for easy and fun riding.
Another highlight of the BMW Definition CE 04 electric scooter is the huge 10.25-inch full-color, digital TFT panel, the largest in the scooter segment to date.
“Electric mobility is a central drive system for the BMW Group and we consistently rely on this technology in our sustainability strategy. Electric vehicles are also a hot topic for BMW Motorrad, especially for the urban environment. Since 2013, we have been pioneers in this area with the BMW C scooter. The BMW Motorrad Definition CE 04 is the logical continuation of the electromobility strategy for urban use and provides a concrete preview of what a contemporary production vehicle could look like, with which we will take two wheels on electric mobility in metropolitan areas to a new level, both technically and visually, “explains Edgar Heinrich, Head of Design at BMW Motorrad.
Finally, the company did not say when a production model would be launched.
