Ather Energy launches 3rd-Gen 450X electric scooter with bigger battery and other improvements

Ather Energy launched the 3rd generation of the 450X electric scooter in India, which comes with a more powerful battery, more autonomy, software improvements and improved rearview mirrors.

According to the company, the Ather 450X has gained a 25% larger battery, 51.1V and 3.7 kWh, which allows a range of up to 146 km (certified by ARAI) and a ‘real’ range of 105 km.

In addition, it has new performance tires, which offer 22% better grip on wet roads, in addition to increasing traction in corners and reducing stopping distance.

Another evolution in the model was in the software that, according to the company, offers 80% faster panel interactions, for smoother maps and faster application loading. Remembering that the Ather 450X has a 7-inch color TFT panel, with GPS navigation through Google Maps, call and music control.

Last but not least, the rear view mirrors have received improvements, with 2X wider visibility and 20% lighter mirrors.

The Ather 450X is equipped with a central electric motor with 6.2 kW of maximum power, which allows a top speed of 80 km/h (90 km/h on the dashboard) and an acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h in just 3 .3 seconds. The final transmission is done by a belt.

In terms of safety, it is equipped with disc brakes on both axles, monoshock rear suspension and waterproof and dustproof battery with IP67 certification. The wheels are 12″ aluminum, fitted with 90/90-12 tires at the front and 100/80-12 at the rear.

The model has Full-LED lighting and brings, within the Ather APP, towing and theft notifications, find charging points, view travel statistics and locate your scooter.

Anyway, the Ather 450X is sold in India for from INR 155,657 (approximately US$ 1,945). Available colors are: Space Grey, Mint Green and White. There is no forecast for other countries.
