Ducati launches Futa: e-road bike with carbon fiber monocoque frame
Ducati has launched in Europe the Futa, its first high-performance e-road bike, which comes with a carbon fiber monocoque frame and top-of-the-line equipment.
In addition to it, the company also updated two other electric bycicles for 2022: the MIG-S, a mountain bike model for extreme trails, and the TK-01RR, an enduro model.
Ducati Futa is a high-performance e-road for those who want to train, have fun and ride to the fullest. It has a carbon fiber monocoque frame with sporty endurance geometry, but with technical choices geared towards aerodynamics and speed.
The motor, located in the rear hub, is the FSA System HM 1.0 with 250W and 42Nm of torque that features a fluid and natural delivery in all conditions and is among the lightest and most compact in the category (3.98 kg). It is equipped with 5 levels of assistance that can be selected via the Garmin control on the handlebars, allowing you to manage the level of support you want.
The 250 Wh FSA battery is integrated into the downtube and an optional 250 Wh range extender is available.
In addition, it features a 2×12-speed wireless electronic shifter, 160mm disc brakes with adjustable carbon interchangeable levers, and a crankset with carbon pedal arms.
Finally, the Vision AGX30 wheels with carbon rims are equipped with 35mm Pirelli Cinturato Velo TLR tires, which guarantee smoothness, comfort and grip, combined with considerable resistance.
Ducati MIG-S
The MIG-S is an extremely versatile All Mountain capable of exploring any trail with ease and fun. For 2022, it gets a new sporty livery, plus the high-performance Shimano EP8 engine (same as the TK-01RR), and other updated components.
The new Shimano EP8 drive unit represents a benchmark for the category. It is an exceptionally light engine (2.6 kg weight), capable of delivering up to 85 Nm of torque with a maximum servo assist ratio of 400%.
Ducati TK-01RR
The TK-01RR is a modern Enduro electric bike with state-of-the-art components, ready to satisfy any rider, even on the most technical terrain, making the off-road experience its ultimate expression.
For 2022, it got a limited edition with the main features of the TK-01RR version, but enriched with more advanced components, with the aim of further improving performance, especially on difficult downhill sections.
Motorcycle-style dual plate Öhlins DH38 front suspension (180mm of travel) and Öhlins TTX rear shock (170mm of travel) ensure incredible vehicle control on descents while maintaining great efficiency on uphill sections.
The Shimano Di2 XT 11-speed electronic rear derailleur always provides quick and precise shifts, while the Magura MT7 brakes with 220mm front and 203mm rear discs are also motorcycle-derived and among the most powerful available on the market.
In addition, distinctively shaped Crankbrothers Synthesis wheels (29″ front, 27.5″ rear) with carbon rims of varying thickness help to further improve riding precision, ensuring an excellent weight-to-force ratio. The setup is completed by a Renthal carbon handlebar, a Fizik saddle with a special integrated tool holder and, finally, a carbon battery cover and skid plate.
