2022 Triumph Rocket 3 R and GT get ‘221 Special Edition’ with unique paint scheme

Triumph launched in Europe the 2022 Rocket 3 R and GT ‘221 Special Edition’, available for one year only. They come with a unique paint scheme, showcasing the Rocket’s class-leading performance numbers, and it is named after its world-leading 221 Nm of peak torque.

The 2022 Rocket 3 R and GT ‘221 Special Edition’ uses a new Red Hopper scheme across the fuel tank and front mudguard, plus unique and distinctive 221 knee pad graphics.

There is also 221 a scheme fuel tank graphics that detail the Rocket’s performance numbers: power, torque, engine size, bore and stroke.

Finally, Sapphire Black color are used on mudguard brackets, headlight bowls, flyscreen, side panels, rear bodywork and radiator cowls.

How is the Rocket 3 R and GT

The Rocket 3 R and GT are equipped with a 2,500 cm³ engine, considered the largest production motorcycle engine in the world.

With this powerful engine, the bike is able to accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in just 2.79 seconds. Talking about numbers, it is a 2,458 cm³ 3-cylinder inline engine with liquid cooling, capable of generating up to 165 HP of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 22.5 kgfm / 221 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.

Aluminium chassis, Brembo brakes and Avon Cobra tires

By the way, the chassis of the Rocket 3 R and GT is made of aluminium, complemented with adjustable Showa suspensions, with 47 mm USD forks at the front. In addition, it has Brembo Stylema brakes, hydraulic-assisted clutch and adjustable ergonomics.

The front wheel is 17″ and the rear 16″, fitted with Avon Cobra Chrome tires measuring 150/80-17 at the front and 240/50-16 at the rear.

Moreover, in terms of technology, it has the second generation of the colored TFT panel, optimized cornering ABS and traction control, 4 riding modes, full LED lighting, Hill hold control and cruise control.

The GT version also has heated grips (optional in the R version), higher handlebars and in a more upright position, slightly larger windshield, adjustable lumbar backrest for the passenger and advanced position of the footrests. In addition, various accessories are available, including sports side cases, forged and machined round-ended mirrors and Triumph Shift Assist, among others.

Anyway, the Triumph Rocket 3 R 221 Special Edition is sold in UK starting from £21,100.00. The Rocket 3 GT 221 Special Edition starts from £21,800.00.
