TVS launched RONIN in India, its first motorcycle with a design called ‘modern-retro’, which comes with a 225cc engine and is full of technology, marking the company’s entry into the premium lifestyle motorcycle segment.
TVS RONIN combines unique design and modern technology, which ensure stress-free riding experiences on all types of terrain. In addition, it launched with an exclusive lineup of world-class branded products and custom accessories, a configurator and a dedicated experience program.
RONIN’s ‘modern-retro’ design brings rounded lines with a modern, adventurous and sporty touch. The headlight is round, as is the instrument panel, which is asymmetrical, fixed to the left.
Despite the retro appeal, everything is modern, with Full-LED lighting and a 100% digital LCD panel. The sporty touch of the bike appears with the beautiful gold Upside Down front fork and the 9-spoke aluminum alloy wheels. The adventurous hint is evidenced by the dual purpose tires and the good ground clearance.
Finally, the bike features café racer and scrambler items such as the flat seat and taillight, practically a line of light, situated below the seat.
Engine and gearbox
The TVS RONIN engine is a 225 cm³ single-cylinder with air and oil cooling, capable of generating up to 15 kW (20.4 HP) of maximum power at 7,750 rpm, and 19.93 Nm (2.0 kgfm) of torque at 3,750 rpm.
The gearbox is 5-speed equipped with an assist and slipper clutch, the fuel tank capacity is 14 liters and the kerb weight is 160 kg.
In terms of technology, RONIN brings voice assistance, turn-by-turn GPS navigation, two-channel ABS (with two modes, Rain and Urban), Integrated Start Generator (quiet and immediate, replaces the starter), 3-level brake and clutch levers adjustment, and Glide Through Technology (GTT), for effortless low-speed driving in traffic.
TVS RONIN is sold in India starting at INR 149,000 Ex showroom Delhi (approximately US $1,879). There is no forecast for other countries.
