Tromox Ukko S: electric bike with aluminum frame and award-winning design

Share:

Tromox has launched the Ukko S, its ‘premium’ electric motorcycle that arrives with superior specs and award-winning design in Europe, from the world-renowned design seal, the iF DESIGN AWARD 2022.

The iF Design Award is one of the most important design awards in the world, identified as an arbiter of quality for outstanding design. The iF jury recognized Tromox Ukko S for its ‘social impact, design concept and differentiation from other similar products’.

To be honest, the Ukko S seems to have come out of the future, with a very aggressive and futuristic design, and different color schemes. It is totally unique and draws eyes wherever it goes.

But it’s not just the beauty that defines this electric bike. It arrives with the best technology, leaving competitors a step behind. First, the frame is all aluminum, including the racing-grade single-sided rear swingarm, an item usually only available on high-displacement supersport motorcycles. It’s lightweight and tough, passing over 1 million times of vibration fatigue testing.

Second, it has a central electric motor and final belt drive (in the S and S Pro versions), a configuration usually seen in powerful and expensive electric bikes, such as the LiveWire One and Zero SR, for example. Peak power is 8000W with maximum torque of 180Nm, which allows a maximum speed of up to 93 km/h.

Third, the removable battery is giant, 72V and 55Ah, which allows a range of up to 160 km on just one charge. It features technologies such as automotive CAN system, BMS system, ‘blade’ battery cells (lifespan: 5 years) and aluminum alloy shell.

Last but not least, it features an exclusive Tromox app, with real-time location tracking, NFC, Smart Key and a 5.5″ color TFT digital panel (on the S and S Pro; the S Lite has a digital VA).

Complete the package, Full-LED lighting, with IP67 waterproof dual lens LED headlights with optical glass, 1080P front and rear dual camera (only on S Pro version), CBS brakes (ABS on S Pro), side stand safety switch, and dual curing powder coating.

Anyway, the Tromox Ukko S sells in Japan for ¥649,800 (approximately $5,000). The company says it aims to become the global leader in the electric mobility industry, creating electric motorcycles exclusively for young riders around the world.
