Triumph Rocket 3 R and GT get ‘Black’ limited edition
Triumph has just launched in Europe the Rocket 3 R and GT ‘Black’ limited edition, with just 1,000 of each worldwide. They come with a unique certificate of authenticity and distinctive and exclusive premium black schemes.
In the ‘Black’ limited edition, the Rocket 3 R features an aggressive all-black color scheme. The Rocket 3 GT has a distinctive three-shades black paint scheme. In addition, they gained carbon fiber front fender (carbon-fibre mudguard).
Several details received a layer of black paint, among them the exhaust system, the wheels, the intake cover, the headlight rims, the windshield and the radiator cowls, among others.
With that, Rocket 3 now has two new sophisticated dark styles, adding a series of exclusive darkened details for an even more striking and dominant presence.
The Rocket 3 R and GT have a 2,500 cm³ engine, considered the largest production motorcycle engine in the world.
It is able to accelerate from 0 to 96 km / h in just 2.79 seconds, “pushed” by the 2,458 cm³ 3-cylinder inline engine with liquid cooling, which is 18 kg lighter than the previous generation. It is capable of generating up to 165 HP of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 22.5 kgfm / 221 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
Aluminum chassis, Brembo brakes and Avon Cobra tires
By the way, the chassis of the Rocket 3 R and GT is made of aluminum, complemented with adjustable Showa suspensions, with monoshock at the rear and 47 mm inverted forks at the front. In addition, it has Brembo Stylema brakes, hydraulic-assisted clutch, adjustable ergonomics and handlebars with internal wiring.
The front wheel is 17″ and the rear 16″, fitted with Avon Cobra Chrome tires measuring 150 / 80-17 at the front and 240 / 50-16 at the rear.
Therefore, in terms of technology, it has the second generation of the colored TFT panel, optimized cornering ABS and traction control, 4 riding modes, full LED lighting, Hill hold control and cruise control.
The GT version also has heated grips (optional in the R version), higher handlebars and in a more upright position, slightly larger windshield, adjustable lumbar backrest for the passenger and advanced position of the footrests. In addition, various accessories are available, including sports side cases, forged and machined round-ended mirrors and Triumph Shift Assist, among others.
