BMW launches lighter 2025 F 900 R and F 900 XR with more on-board technology
BMW has announced the launch in Europe of the new 2025 F 900 R and F 900 XR, its roadster and sports touring motorcycles, respectively. They arrive with mechanical improvements, are lighter and have more on-board technology.
Both models now weigh around 3 kg less, thanks to the new wheelset (1.8 kg lighter) and the new battery (0.8 kg lighter). The weight reduction can be further increased with the new Akrapovič silencer, sold as a genuine accessory.
Additionally, both models receive a new fully adjustable inverted front suspension, with adjustable damping rebound and compression damping and spring preload.
In terms of technology, the new bikes received Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), BMW Motorrad ABS Pro, and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), all offered as standard.
Furthermore, the BMW F 900 XR goes further with Headlight Pro, which includes DRL and Adaptive Headlight, and a USB-C charging port.
The engine of both motorcycles remains the same, that is, a liquid-cooled 895cc twin-cylinder, capable of generating up to 105 hp of maximum power.
Finally, the new 2025 BMW F 900 R hits stores in three versions: Basic (Snapper Rocks Blue metallic), Triple Black (Blackstorm metallic), and Sport (Lightwhite with Racingblue metallic). The 2025 F 900 XR also has three versions: Basic (Racing Red), Triple Black (Blackstorm metallic), and Sport (Lightwhite with Racingblue metallic).
For now, there is no forecast for this update to reach other countries.
