WorldSBK | Torrential rain postpones race 1 in Indonesia; Champion will be known on Sunday
Torrential rain that fell on the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit in Indonesia on Saturday afternoon postponed race 1 for the WorldSBK Superbike Championship. With that, the World Champion of the category will only be known on Sunday.
Yamaha rider Toprak Razgatlioglu, is 30 points ahead of Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki), and took pole position for the Indonesia round. With that, he is practically with ‘a hand and a half in the title’, especially if the races take place on a dry track.
If races happen on a wet track, a lot can happen, including in Rea’s favor. During the season, some races took place in this situation and the Turk did not do very well.
In any case, what was decided for Sunday was the following: race 1 takes place in the morning there, at the same time as the Superpole race, which, therefore, was cancelled. Race 2 takes place in the afternoon, at the same planned time, with no changes.
See below for the main category schedule for Sunday. All times are local time (GMT +8):
09:00: WorldSBK Warm-Up
11:00: WorldSBK Race 1 (21 Laps)
15:00 WorldSBK Race 2 (21 Laps)
