2023 Yamaha XMAX 125 gets new design and more technology in Europe
Yamaha has launched in Europe the 2023 XMAX 125, its sporty 125cc scooter, which arrives with a new design and more embedded technology, to remain one of the best options in the segment.
Available in two versions, the ‘standard’ XMAX 125 and the top-of-the-line XMAX 125 Tech MAX, the new scooter features an updated design, with new front fairing and ‘X’-shaped headlight and taillight distribution, creating a modern, futuristic and aggressive look.
In addition, the new scooter now has turn signals at the same height as the handlebars, on the sides of the windshield, and a new seat that, according to the brand, has increased the level of comfort and practicality.
Technology
In terms of technology, the new 2023 XMAX 125 Tech MAX comes with a new 4.3″ color TFT panel with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth and which can also function as a GPS navigation system. In addition to this main screen, there is another 3.2″ LCD just above, to display information such as speed, distance traveled and fuel level.
On the other hand, the ‘standard’ 2023 XMAX 125 has a single 4.3″ LCD screen, but also has smartphone connectivity, to receive call and message notifications, and to access other information.
In addition, the lighting is now Full-LED, that is, headlights, flashlights and turn signals rely on this technology. The LED taillight has been redesigned and incorporates brake lights that form an ‘X’ when lit. The integrated rear turn signals give an elegant appearance.
Finally, the model remains with other technologies that have made it a reference in the segment, such as Dynamic Traction Control, the keyless start system, the switchable on/off Start & Stop engine technology, the space under the seat for two full-face helmets, the 12V socket and the windshield and handlebars, which are adjustable.
Engine and chassis
The 2023 Yamaha XMAX 125 has the same EURO5 Blue Core engine as the previous model, that is, a 125 cm³ liquid-cooled single-cylinder, capable of generating up to 9 kW (12.2 hp) of maximum power at 8,000 rpm, and 11.2 Nm (1.13 kgfm) of torque at 6,000 rpm. It works together with a CVT automatic transmission, that is, there is no clutch or gears, just accelerate and brake.
In addition, the model has disc brakes with ABS on both axles, 15″ aluminum alloy wheels at the front and 14″ at the rear, motorcycle-style front suspension, and tubeless tires measuring 120/70-15 at the front and 140/70-14 at the rear.
Availability
The 2023 Yamaha XMAX 125 Tech MAX hits stores in Europe from June 2023 in Dark Petrol and Tech Black colors. The ‘standard’ version 2023 XMAX 125 will be available two months earlier, that is, from April 2023, in Icon Blue and Sonic Grey.
