2022 KTM 890 DUKE R gets new color option in Europe

KTM announced in Europe the 2022 model of the 890 DUKE R, its middleweight naked bike, which arrives with a new color option.

The KTM 890 DUKE R now features a hue of matt paint called ‘Atlantic Blue’. It is reminiscent of the palate used on the KTM RC16 GP racer bike and recently the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R.

Despite the new color, the model does not bring any mechanical changes, not even design. The frame and wheels are still painted orange.

The 2022 KTM 890 DUKE R is equipped with a liquid-cooled 890 cm³ parallel 2-cylinder engine, capable of generating up to 89 kW (121 HP) and 99 Nm (10.1 kgfm) of torque.

To stop the bike with all this power, the model is equipped with a Brembo Stylema front brake caliper, double 310 mm disc and an adjustable Brembo MCS master cylinder.

In addition, the set is completed with sticky Michelin Power Cup 2 tires, which are shod on 17″ alloy wheels.

In terms of electronic, the KTM 890 DUKE R is equipped with Cornering ABS and Cornering MTC (Traction Control) with a 6D lean angle sensor, a selection of ride modes (RAIN, STREET, SPORT, and optional TRACK mode), nine levels of adjustable traction control slip, anti-wheelie on/off, and the additional throttle control setting.

The instrument panel is fully digital in color TFT and the lighting is Full-LED, that is, headlights, flashlights and turn signal (blinkers) rely on this technology.

Finally, the company says that a full range of KTM PowerParts has been developed to personalize the bike.

The 2022 KTM 890 DUKE R will arrive on authorized KTM dealers from Febuary 2022 onwards.
