2022 Honda CMX500 Rebel gets a new green color in Europe
Honda launched in Europe the 2022 model of the CMX500 Rebel, its 500cc twin-cylinder custom bobber, which arrives with a new color option.
Now, the 2022 CMX500 Rebel can be purchased in Pearl Organic Green, in addition to Mat Jeans Blue Metallic, Graphite Black and Mat Axis Grey Metallic. In addition, the ‘S’ version is still available, which adds some accessories such as a headlight cowl, all-black fork covers and gaiters plus diamond-stitch style seat.
In terms of mechanics, there is no change, it continues with the same set it received in 2020, with a 471cc twin-cylinder EURO5 compliance engine, revised suspensions, Full-LED lighting, gear indicator on the dashboard, assist/slipper clutch and a more comfortable seat.
The CMX500 Rebel is a bike with minimalist style and simple lines, a custom bobber, design evidenced by the position of the fuel tank and, mainly, by the wide, fat tires, especially at the front. They measure 130/90-16 at the front and 150/80-16 at the rear.
In addition, the ‘S’ version of the model also features a headlight fairing, a retro-style front suspension cover and a diamond-stitch style seat.
Despite the LED lighting, the shape of the headlight, dashboard and turn signals are round, giving the bike a classic look. The taillight has a horizontal format with curved sides.
Engine and technology
The engine of the 2022 CMX500 Rebel is a liquid cooled 471 cm³ twin-cylinder, capable of generating up to 34 kW (45.6 HP) of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 43.3Nm (4.4 kgfm) of torque at 6,000 rpm.
It is the same used in the sporty CBR 500R, but had the fuel injection mapping revised and different valve and ignition times changed, focusing on low torque, with smooth and linear delivery throughout the entire rev range.
It works in conjunction with a 6-speed gearbox, equipped with an assist and slipper clutch. The wheels are 16 inches, equipped with Dunlop tires measuring 130/90-16 at the front and 150/80-16 at the rear. In terms of braking, it has a 296 mm brake disc at the front with two-piston calipers, and two-channel ABS.
The instrument panel is fully digital with a negative LCD and white backlight and features a gear position indicator as well fuel consumption display.
Finally, a range of Honda Genuine Accessories are available both individually or as part of the ‘comfort’ or ‘travel’ packs, including passenger backrest, adjustable brake lever and 12V socket.
