MotoGP | Pol Espargaro ends pre-season test as fastest with new Honda RC213V

Pol Espargaro, a Repsol Honda Team rider in MotoGP, ended the 2022 pre-season testing as the fastest on the new Pertamina Mandalika circuit.

The Spanish rider and teammate of the eight-time World Champion Marc Marquez, set the fastest lap on the new circuit, with 1:31:060, achieved on the third and final day of testing.

Both riders are using the new 2022 RC213V bike, which has received many modifications since last season. The main novelties in the new model are: revised chassis, upgraded engine, new aero dynamics and a revised livery. Moreover, the front air intake has a new shape, the top exhaust tip is megaphone-type, and the rear has a new tail.

On day three, Pol Espargaro was the fastest, with reigning World Champion Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) and Luca Marini (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) completing the top three.

The last day of testing in Indonesia ended with 21 riders splitted by just 0.8s, just before heading to the first race of the season, in Qatar, scheduled for March 6th.
