Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing), won the French GP held at the Le Mans track, for the MotoGP championship, and increased his lead in the championship, as he also won the Sprint race, held on Saturday.

But the highlight of the race was Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing), who started from 13th position, overtook several riders on the first lap, and finished second, after a spectacular overtake on Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), on the last lap, practically in the final meters.

Marquez did something similar on Saturday when, with a masterful start, managed to reach fourth place on the first lap. He managed two more overtake and finished second.

In Sunday’s race, which is worth the most points, he had more difficulties but, little by little, managed to overtake and get closer to the front guys. With a lot of racing pace, it didn’t take long to catch Bagnaia and Martin and try to win.

On the last lap, Bagnaia even tried to overtake Martin, but was unable to do so. Marquez didn’t think twice and decided to attack at turn 9, one of the most dangerous to try to overtake. Successfully, he managed to maintain the line and hold off the Italian in the final meters. Maneuver worthy of applause.

My friends, the last laps of the French GP were breathtaking. This race definitely went down in MotoGP history as one of the most exciting races.

Martin showed his strength and reaffirmed his leadership. Bagnaia gave his blood, led most of the race, didn’t get the victory, but got a good result, as he crashed on Saturday and didn’t score any points. Marc Marquez, on the other hand, showed why he is an eight-time world champion, is in tune with the Ducati bike and is definitely a strong candidate for this year’s title.

MotoGP returns on May 26th, with the Catalunya GP, at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit.
